Now that I live in the country, I don’t get weather reports for my immediate area. I get the weather report for the closest big city which is about 30 minutes away. So the weather report is almost always wrong and not by just a little bit. They say
the low will be 40 degrees. I wake up to 26 degrees. They said we would get about 2 inches of snow. I got almost 8 inches. These differences have really affected my day and my plans so I started searching for home weather stations.
Home weather stations allow a person to set up remotes around there home, based on what readings you want you may or may not have numerous remotes and you would need to read where the best placement is. The remotes then send the information to a central monitor that you have placed in your home, some can be attached to the wall and some can just be placed on a counter or desk. The monitor then tells you all the weather information right at your home. Depending on how extensive of a system you get you can know just the temperature or you can know the air quality, wind speed and direction, humidity, etc.
Some of these weather stations are wired which means you will have to wiring things through your house, however, the more popular models are wireless. Which is the best way to go in my opinion. Wireless home weather stations are pretty decent looking and are not that expensive. The price ranges based on what features you want from your weather station. But those things aside I am just excited to actually know what the weather is at my home and not 30 minutes from me. Since there are so many different kinds of weather stations it is best that you research the different features, brands, and prices before purchasing.
