Well my husband and I have always dreamed about going on a cross country motorcycle ride, or maybe just across a few states.  Anyway, I am not one that likes to get lost when you don’t have a large tank of gas and I would rather like to enjoy the scenery of the country, go down side roads, and explore than worry about whether I have enough gas in my tank.  It would have never occurred to me that I could use a GPS for that until my sister and I drove across the country when I moved and we used her GPS to plan out where to stop for lunch, dinner, gas, hotels, etc.  We used it for everything and the trip was extremely easy!  I couldn’t believe just how useful her GPS had been for our trip.  However, her GPS was suction cupped to the windshield of my truck and there was no possibility of suction cupping a GPS to a motorcycle.  I searched the internet for "gps for motorcycles" and was amazed at what I found.  I had never even heard of GPS systems that were specifically designed for motorcycle use.  The more I searched into GPS I found out that there are designated GPS systems for just about any outdoor activity.  GPS I guess has become the new and improved compass and everyone has one in their pocket.  Anyway, I found one particular site that I thought had a good deal of information about motorcycle GPS systems and even had information about mounts for car GPS systems.  Which allows you to use a car GPS system on your motorcycle.  I haven’t decided which I want to buy yet but since our dream motorcycle trip is not happening for a while I have plenty of time to look at more information and decide which to buy.

So recently I have heard a lot about the new Amazon Kindle 2.  I hadn’t heard about it before so I started doing some searches.  Apparently the item I have been hearing so much about isn’t even on the market yet.  It is available February 24th, although you can pre-order it.  However, I found out that there are other products like it and I so I did some research.  First off if you have never heard of the Amazon Kindle 2 it is Amazon’s latest verison of what is called an electronic book reader.  Electronic book readers or ebook readers as they are also referred as are little electronic devices that you can download books, magazine, even newspapers into and then carry them with you whereever you go.  There are many different kinds but they all can hold at least 200 titles roughly.  That is insane.  Imagine carrying around 200 books in a little device and the device is little.  They all range around the size of a typical paperback book and are as light as 10 oz.  I seriously wish I had one because the convenience of being able to carry numerous books around with me that take little to no space just sounds great.  Supposedly these things are suppose to be the next IPod and with how intrigue I was I think it is possible.  Although I am a little skeptical about how many people read vs listen to music.  I love to read and would certainly gain advantage from the product but I have the feeling that people who are not interested in reading won’t even give the product a second glance.  Which may in part be from the prices.  They are all very expensive, the Kindle 2 is $359 and it’s competitor is $400.  Ouch.  So even though I am stoked about this new product and would love to have one of my own I don’t yet have $359 to spare.  With my research though I found a really good sight that reviews the top two ebook readers I found.  It actually lists three but two are the Kindle and Kindle 2 which I have found are much them same just a little better.  It would be like comparing the IPod and IPod Nano.  Anyway, check it out.  After reading all the information though I am more apt to buy the new Amazon Kindle 2.
