So while looking for a baby gift idea for my friend who is due in September I manage to stumble across something very interesting and completely unrelated.  However, I got lost in what I dsicovered and figured I would share with the rest of you, especially if some of you are just as unaware as I can be at times.  Anyway, within the world of fasion and accessories comes the idea that laptop bags should be fashionable, funky, stylish, anything but the same old black bag that so many of us are use to seeing.  I have to admit that the laptop I used all through college was a very lame regular black shoulder laptop bag. I never really thought anything about it but after discovering all the differnet laptop bags that are out there I wish I had a cool laptop bag then.  I haven’t used my laptop since I graduated college so I don’t really need the cool bag now.  Anyway, the industry of laptop bags has expanded greatly.  There are specialized laptop bags for students, travelers, women, men, ecofriendly, backpacks, messenger style, simple sleeves, and the list goes one.  Each type of bag has features designed for the user in mind and one site in particular has these types of bags in a huge variety of styles, colors, prints, patterns, etc.  There are just as many different laptop bags as there are women’s handbags and shoes!   Some of the bags are a little too funky for my taste but there are so many different styles, shapes, and patterns that just about every individual is sure to find a bag that speaks to them.

Now I know that some might be thinking about whether or not these bags sacrifice function and durability for their clever unique intriguing styles but I have to tell you that these bags are just as sturdy and dependable as the boring black bags.   The unique laptop bag just allows an individual to escape the monotone ideal of a professional business person, whom laptops were originally designed for.   However, two things have changed. 

Firstly, business professional are steering more and more away from the perfect clean cut and pressed man or woman, to a variety of unique individuals.  You have successful business men and women out there that show up to work in what makes them comofortable and expresses who they are.  There are those that wear jeans and a sport coat versus a business suit or those that have an odd hair style or hair cut versus the clean cut style.  So it only makes sense that those kinds of business individuals that are striving to stand apart from the business stereo type should be able to do so with their laptop bags as well. 

Secondly, laptops are no longer limited to the business professional, high school graduates often get one to take to college with them, many stay at home mothers are getting them so they can work at the computer anywhere they might be, travelers are able to carry a laptop whereever they want with the increase of wi-fi hotspots and internet cafes.  So with so many unique individuals carrying around laptops I am sure the same old black bag got boring really fast.  

So the industry answered back with such a variety of laptop bags anyone and everyone is sure to be pleased with what they can find.
